IHSA Leadership Opportunities – Expressions of Interest Now Open

Help Strengthen Governance and Shape the Future of Ice Hockey in South Australia

Ice Hockey South Australia (IHSA) is inviting Expressions of Interest for key leadership roles to ensure we have the required Executive quorum to govern effectively. Under the IHSA constitution, the Executive must have a minimum of three Executive members to make decisions, provide oversight, and support the ongoing operations of the association.

With several Executive positions currently vacant, IHSA is seeking appointments to restore full governance capacity and maintain continuity until the next scheduled elections.

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about supporting the growth, integrity, and sustainability of ice hockey in South Australia. All roles will come with ample handover from existing and former role holders.

Executive Roles (Voting)

All Executive roles listed below are appointments, with term lengths aligned to the existing election cycle.

President – Currently Vacant - Appointed until AGM 2027 (2‑year term)

Provides strategic leadership, chairs meetings, represents IHSA, and ensures alignment with state and national requirements.

Treasurer – Currently Vacant - Appointed until AGM 2027 (2‑year term)

Oversees financial management, budgeting, reporting, and ensures transparent and compliant financial practices.

Vice President – Vacant from March - Appointed until AGM 2026

Supports the President, leads key projects, and steps into leadership duties when required.
This role will be open for formal election at the December 2026 AGM.

Secretary – Vacant from March - Appointed until AGM 2026

Manages governance records, minutes, correspondence, and compliance documentation.
This role will be open for formal election at the December 2026 AGM.

In accordance with the Ice Hockey SA Constitution (2019), the elected Directors are now seeking to appoint suitably qualified members to these roles, to ensure continuity of governance and effective operation of the Association until the next AGM cycle.

Portfolio Lead Roles (Non‑Voting)

These roles support the Board with specialist knowledge and operational leadership. They do not carry voting rights but are essential to the development and functioning of IHSA.

Available portfolios include:

• Director of Women’s Programs
• Director of Coaching
• Director of Player Development
• Director of Goaltending Development
• Referee‑in‑Chief (RIC)
• Member Protection Officer (MPO)
• Child Safety Officer (CSO)

These positions suit individuals passionate about development pathways, safeguarding, officiating, inclusion, and strengthening the hockey community.
