Our women's program suits players of all ages. From come 'n try to weekly women only development training, there's a lot of options available to get involved in ice hockey and level up your skills.
I'VE ONLY JUST STARTED SKATING
I CAN SKATE AND STOP BUT HAVENT PLAYED ICE HOCKEY BEFORE
Depending on your age, there are a couple of options to get you confident and ready to play ice hockey.
We recommend you enrol in the IceBlast program
IceBlast is a great inexpensive way to see if hockey is the sport for you. Ran during the school term over 6-10 weeks, all gear is supplied and the basics of skating and hockey are taught in a fun environment.
Check out the Women’s Beginner hockey. Gear is provided and our experience female coaches will lead you through puck control, shooting and skating, as well as the fundamentals of game play.

LEVEL UP YOUR HOCKEY SKILLS
Between IHSA and the IceArena, there’s a bunch of training programs suited for you.
The ice blast program is a great first step into playing hockey. Players 9 and under are provided full ice hockey gear for each session and under 16 are provided with a helmet and hockey stick.
The experienced coaches teach the basics from skating, stopping and hockey skills over 6 lessons. Ice Blast takes away the financial risk and gives the opportunity to see if you enjoy ice hockey.

The Ice Arena runs the hockey academy during school terms and is broken up into 4 different levels to cater for all levels of skill from beginner to advanced. If you’re enrolled in the beginner program, the Ice Arena can supply a helmet and hockey stick for lessons.
Hockey Academy Coaches are experienced current and past state players
Power and Edges
Want to really understand your skating ability, learn from the best on how to use the edges on your skate blades to control and power your skating. Power and Edges runs during the school term.
The focus of this program is solely on skating.

Our most experienced female coaches run a weekly women’s only training.
Weekly training alternates between Open, Intermediate and Advanced with each training focusing on specific skills for that level.
