Ice Hockey

It's never too late to start playing ice hockey in Adelaide. We have a range of training programs and leagues to get you on the ice and shooting that puck

I'VE ONLY JUST STARTED SKATING

Hockey is fast paced and requires a set of skating skills such as stopping, skating backwards and being able to change direction fast. We recommend you enrol in the IceArena’s skate school

I CAN SKATE AND STOP BUT HAVENT PLAYED ICE HOCKEY BEFORE

There is plenty of opportunity to get on the ice in a relaxed environment for you to learn and build your hockey ability.

The IceArena runs the Hockey Academy during school terms and have a range of levels from beginner to advanced and goalie development.

I CAN CONTROL THE PUCK AND MOVE AROUND THE ICE

Once you’re comfortable moving around the ice in all of your gear with a puck, you’re ready to play hockey.

We have 2 leagues you can play in.

Summer league runs between October and March

Winter Season runs between April and September

LEVEL UP YOUR HOCKEY SKILLS

Between IHSA and the IceArena, there’s a bunch of training programs suited for you.

Power and Edges

Want to really understand your skating ability, learn from the best on how to use the edges on your skate blades to control and power your skating. Power and Edges runs during the school term.

The focus of this program is solely on skating.

Hockey Academy

The Ice Arena runs the hockey academy during school terms and is broken up into 4 different levels to cater for all levels of skill from beginner to advanced. If you’re enrolled in the beginner program, the Ice Arena can supply a helmet and hockey stick for lessons.
